3-9-23 PM Alert

Good Afternoon, New Mexico Activists:

Sorry to hit you with a second Alert today, but just this afternoon we learned about two new hearings, one Friday afternoon and one Saturday morning. If you missed the Alert earlier today about saving Paid Family & Medical Leave and killing Brackish Water Reuse, you’ll find it at this link.

NEW: On Fri., March 10, 1:30 p.m., Room 309, House Judiciary will hear SB 53 Storage of Certain Radioactive Waste. This was held over from their Wednesday hearing, and it’s the last stop before it goes to the House Floor for a final vote! SB 53 would prohibit state agencies from issuing permits to store high-level radioactive waste. You’ll find talking points at the link in the bill title above. Please contact committee members no later than Friday morning to urge them to vote “YES” on SB 53.
