URGENT ACTION ALERT Chaos in DC, Hundreds of Armed Cowboys For Trump at Roundhouse. Call the Governor.

I don’t need to tell you what is going on in Washington, D.C. right now. If you don’t know, turn on your TV to any channel. It is insurrection and it is treason, but we have problems right now at the Roundhouse with armed Cowboys. Action Alert Info.

The action called for below is focused on domestic terrorists at the Roundhouse who are not wearing masks, but it is more than this. We are witnessing on national television right now what happens when wanton disregard for law is encouraged by leadership and appropriate responses are not taken by those who have a responsibility to protect the law. You will find a story from the ABQ Journal at the bottom of this post, validating the hundreds of unmasked Trump protesters. For now the term “protester” applies, but so does the term lawbreakers as they are flagrantly defying Covid regulations.

In DC, every single one of those terrorists should be charged with treason and if this day does not result in Trump’s immediate impeachment and his also being charged with treason, we are only sending the message that even this is acceptable. And I want to scream every time I hear news media call them “protesters.”

At least it is official, Jon Ossoff has been declared the winner and Mitch McConnell can…… [I want to remain dignified. Not easy.]

Action below is focused on masks, but we need to use the laws we have to protect our state and nation. This is insane.

EVERYONE – please focus on POSTING on social media + emailing the Governor and using the health violation report link.
RIGHT NOW in SANTE FE: There are hundreds of heavily-armed Trump supporters NOT WEARING MASKS and we need to report this now. This is one way to actively push back, shame them in media, levy fines, and stop these coup-supporters.

“STOP THE SPREAD: Cowboys & Bikers for Trump spreading conspiracies and possibly COVID in NM”

#StopTheSpreadABOUT:  “Cowboys for Trump” & “Bikers for Trump” are massing at our capital in Santa Fe to protest the election results. Although they call themselves patriots, they want to overturn a fair election. This large gathering, in the midst of a pandemic, with very few masks and no social distancing endangers the lives of New Mexicans and threatens to overwhelm our medical system.

“The Department of Health, under the provisions of this law, may issue civil administrative penalties of up to $5,000 a day per violation of an emergency public health order. The state Supreme Court has upheld the authority of the state Department of Health in this matter.”CALL TO ACTION:  We urge enforcement of the public health directives on these groups and fine them if they won’t wear masks or socially distance. Post or ask questions like – Why aren’t you keeping us safe? Our hospitals are already full of Covid patients, and these unmasked protesters may make people ill, what are you doing to stop that? Why aren’t you protecting the public from these Trump supporters whose actions increase illness and death?

Corroborating Information

Here is a report from the ABQ Journal, plus, when I was in town this afternoon you could see a police helicopter flying over the Roundhouse.  Thanks for your comment, but we really have to begin to oppose this insanity.  Paul

“SANTA FE, N.M. — As a mob of protesters broke into the U.S. Capitol Building during the a joint session of congress, hundreds of protesters converged on the Roundhouse in Santa Fe in reaction to unfounded claims of voter fraud during the 2020 Presidential Election.

Unlike what was happening in Washington, D.C., the Santa Fe demonstration was mostly peaceful. However, at least one fight broke out between Trump supporters and counter-protesters and the state capitol was partially evacuated while the demonstration was going on outside, according to Raul Burciaga, director of the New Mexico Legislative Council. He said he was communicating with New Mexico State Police.

The hundreds of protesters in Santa Fe expressed their displeasure with a variety of issues, including false allegations of voter fraud and mask ordinances.

“It is the people’s house,” said Laura Jans of Mora. “As long as they’re respectful and don’t destroy anything.”

The roughly 250 demonstrations outside the Roundhouse was made up mostly of non-mask wearing white people and included members of the Proud Boys and Cowboys for Trump.

One woman was heard celebrating the shutdown of the nation’s capitol.

“We shut down the House and the Senate,” she said with glee.

Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham issued a statement Wednesday afternoon on the happenings at the U.S. capitol.

“There is no place in our country or state for this. This is beneath the United States of America. It is not who we are,” she said. “It is nothing less than domestic terrorism, enacted in an effort to overturn a free and fair election. I am praying for the law enforcement and military personnel working to protect American lives from this anti-democratic riot and attempted insurrection.”

She said law enforcement in New Mexico would continue to monitor any demonstrations going on here.

She blamed President Trump for creating the chaos.

“His reprehensible attacks on the rule of law and American democracy have directly inspired this unconscionable display of disorder and mob mentality. He is responsible,” she said.

This story is developing.

  3. What I would like to see is a side by side video POLICE reactions against protests by various groups who oppose actions taken by government and police AND the way police “reacted” to what happened at and in the Capital building today.

  4. One thing is now for certain, the USA’s holier-than-though, hypocritical finger wagging at other countries, accompanied by disparaging chants of “Banana Republic”, “uncivilized” and “under developed”, has been fully exposed today in Washington, DC. Donald Trump, and his gangster cabal, are responsible for this act of sedition, and the arrest of its leadership in particular, including Boy Trump and Rudy Gulliani, must now be swift. Further, the Paddy Wagon should be waiting at the gates of the White House when Donald vacates the premises on the day Mr. Biden is sworn in. And our new president, famous as he is for dealing across the aisle, should let justice take its natural course.

To close on a more local note, cowboys should know that we don’t need any more horse shit in the Roundhouse.

  5. from indivisable site: The House must act quickly to introduce new Articles of Impeachment. And the Senate must hold a trial and remove Trump from office and then vote to disqualify him from ever holding federal office again. Call your member of Congress and ask them to impeach the President. Then follow through to the next page and call your senator to ask them to vote to convict him and disqualify him from ever holding office again

  6. In my earlier comment today I spelt “thou” as “though” in “holier-than-thou”. Guess one does not use this word often today.

  7. I drove by the Roundhouse today and found terrorists with guns threatening me as I drove by in a Tesla. New Mexico officials refuse to enforce the law and instead allow Trump terrorists to threaten law abiding citizens.

  8. A friend of mine a Trump voter, drove around the downtown area and saw people punching each other and the police. This after her state office was closed. She said she was sicken. She went home and hugged her kids telling them everything would be okay. She said this is not who I am, this is not what I support.

  9. Violence begets violence. It must ALL stop.

  10. This is the letter I sent to the Governor, the Mayor and others late the afternoon of Jan 6.

    Dear Governor Lujan Grisham:

Self-proclaimed “patriots” allied to the defeated president gathered today in substantial numbers at OUR Round House without wearing masks and without social distancing. This egregious behavior endangers themselves, their families, and the broader communities in a time when the COVID pandemic is far from controlled.

I drove by the Round House and saw the police standing in lines idle, well away from the scene, barely observing the crowd’s behavior.

What is being done to enforce the law, issuing citations for failure to wear a mask?

The public deserves an answer to this question.

I do not need to remind you that under the law the Department of Health may issue civil administrative penalties of up to $5,000 a day per violation of an emergency public health order. The State Supreme Court upheld the authority of the State Department of Health in this matter.

This is an unconscionable breach of public safety and even more so as the medical system is already stretched extremely thin and in danger of being overwhelmed. Plus, we have yet to see the worst from Christmas and New Year’s gatherings.

The fact that many in the crowd reportedly were also armed is another matter, making it even worse by far. Yes, citizens have the Constitutional right to peacefully assemble, but arms are meant to and in fact do intimidate and thus suppress the same right of others to assemble. All this as, these self-styled “patriots” seek to overturn an open and fair election by irregular and illegal means.

    Most Sincerely,

    An Alarmed

    James Stewart

    — Mayor Webbers responded in an email that the State Police are in charge of Round House security and after coordination with other decided to not risk turning a peaceful demonstration into something else by not confronting the crowd on mask wearing. Does that say that the Police are unwilling or unable to cite people for breaking a lawful public health order and thus risking adding to already sky high CoVID infections? I assume that others received the same letter from the Mayor.

  11. Started the week here with (what I at least) thought was an interesting discussion of what Democratic Socialism is supposed to represent in terms of concrete objectives and policies. Then the news that the McConnell isn’t going to be running the Senate for a while at least, and somehow Trump and his supporters have once again perpetrated an abomination that has captured the news cycle.

I am so yearning for a period of one or two weeks in which people who are really interested in a true dialog about democracy and the future of this country can have a civil discussion about it without being interrupted by that ##%%%##.
