It started with a handful in NYC and now has spread to over 25 airports throughout the nation. Sorry for the second post in a day, but we need good news. I am near tears, not out of fear of Trump (for once) but out of pride for America’s response. NY Times reports that Trump may be buckling. We can do this.
A few dozen folks showed up at JFK in NYC and within hours the crowd grew into the thousands. This morning around 7, I got an email about how now the protest was speading to Philadelphia today. By 9 I got an email with the list of over 25 airports across the country that were having protests. A few minutes later, a report from the NYTs that Trump may be buckling. This must continue happening. He may still get his way, but we are galvanizing a nation. Justice will prevail.
Click here for details. Since you may need a NY Times subscription to access the article, I am providing it as aprotest-grows-out-of-nowhere-at-kennedy-airport-after-iraqis-are-detained-the-new-york-times, but this doesn’t always work either, so to get updates, just google “airport protests.” For a great article with tons of photos, click here.
And now it has grown to over 25 cities across the nation. Click on the city name for the FB details.
Kansas City, MO
Los Angeles, CA
New York, NY
San Diego, CA
Saint Louis, MO
Don’t see your city – check Think Progress’s List as well – search on FB for your city’s protest, or start one!
We can do this and in the process build a movement that will finally get us what we have thirsted for: Justice.
