It was an incredible showcase of talent Rocked for Standing Rock at the Skylight last night…a gig that will be repeated in February as a benefit for Retake Our Democracy. And wishes for a bit of time away from the political fray to recharge the batteries.
Rock for Standing Rock. The place was absolutely packed. Brian Hardgroove assembled a ‘house band’ with some killer musicians who backed a seamless series of featured guest musicians that included Jay Boy Adams, Jono Manson, Tiho Dimitrov, Felecia Ford, Sean Healen, George Adelo, Kirk Kadish, Andy Kingston, Justin Bransford, Paul E, Horace Alexander Young, Tasha Curtis, Jimmy Russell, Wes Studi, and Drums For Peace. Almost $4000 was raised for the legal fund at Standing Rock. Each artist featured one or two iconic songs of resistance that had the crowd dancing and cheering throughout the non-stop three hour set. Hardgroove and Jono Manson have agreed to assemble another all-star lineup as a benefit for Retake Our Democracy. Look for it in February.

But it will take all of you joining in a sustained commitment to advocacy. Nothing less than the future of the planet is at stake. Look at this as YOUR opportunity to build a future and preserve our planet for future generations.
Wishing you all the best of holidays. We will welcome you back to the struggle in January.
